For other rug types, it is recommended to promptly clean up spills by gently blotting the stain with a clean white cloth. Avoid rubbing the stain, and use lukewarm water for wool rugs, while avoiding the use of water or liquid on Viscose and Tencel rugs. Rinse with clean water and use dry towels to absorb any remaining moisture.
To address any folds or curls in your new area rug, you can place a heavy object, such as a book or a piece of furniture, on each corner for a couple of days to smooth out the curves. Alternatively, you can lay the rug out upside down for a couple of days to allow the fibers to relax and flatten naturally.
